Hunting Ridge is a single-family home neighborhood located west of Quentin Road along Illinois Avenue, surrounding William Fremd High School, in the Village of Palatine, Illinois. Approved for development in 1967 on roughly 200 acres, the community was built by Winston-Muss Corporation, with the first residents moving in during the fall of 1968. Homes throughout Hunting Ridge continued to be built over the following years, bringing a mix of colonials, raised ranches, and split-levels to what had previously been open farmland on Palatine's southwest side.

The neighborhood was designed with an emphasis on space and livability, featuring generous lot sizes, winding streets, and cul-de-sacs intended to minimize through traffic. Seven parks and recreational areas are woven throughout the community, giving residents room for soccer, baseball, and everyday outdoor activity within walking distance of home. This early attention to green space and thoughtful layout has helped Hunting Ridge maintain its character and appeal for more than five decades. Since its earliest years, the community has also been home to an active homeowners association that continues to represent residents on local issues.

Hunting Ridge's location remains one of its strongest features. The neighborhood is within walking distance of Peregrine Lake and Peregrine Park, and it's just minutes from Harper College. Families benefit from access to nearby Palatine District 15 elementary schools and Fremd High School, while commuters appreciate quick access to Route 53 and Interstate 90. Downtown Palatine's shops, restaurants, and Metra station are also close by, and the Woodfield Mall area in Schaumburg is just a short drive away, rounding out Hunting Ridge's mix of convenience, recreation, and long-standing community character.
