Development began in the late 1970s and continued into the late 1980s, with the community built by Kennedy Brothers and later completed by Chester Moskal, Standard Pacific Builders, and Raymond Homes, giving it a distinctly French-inspired character reflected in street names like Charlemagne Drive, Bordeaux Drive, and Anjou Lane.
