Kimball Hill is the founding neighborhood of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, located south of Kirchoff Road and north of Central Road, just east of Route 53. Builder Kimball Hill began constructing small, affordable ranch homes here in 1953, naming his development Rolling Meadows and selling roughly 700 homes by 1955 through what was then a groundbreaking assembly-line building process. The city itself was later incorporated in 1955, and the community's history is preserved today at the Rolling Meadows Historical Museum, built as a replica of one of the original 1950s homes.

Homes throughout Kimball Hill were originally built as compact two- and three-bedroom, one-bath ranches designed to be affordable and expandable for returning World War II veterans and young families. Over the decades, many owners have added on and updated their homes, so today's Kimball Hill offers a wide range of sizes, from cozy original starter homes to significantly expanded properties, all set along tree-lined streets with mature landscaping.

Location adds to Kimball Hill's lasting appeal. The neighborhood is largely self-sufficient, with nearby schools, parks, a library, and a central commercial area all within reach, along with a sledding hill and green belt near the Rolling Meadows Park District building. Families are served by District 15 elementary schools and Rolling Meadows High School, while commuters benefit from easy access to Route 53, I-90, and I-290/355, along with nearby Metra service. With its rich history and enduring, family-oriented character, Kimball Hill remains the heart of Rolling Meadows.
