Kingsport Terrace in Schaumburg
Kingsport Terrace is a neighborhood in Schaumburg north of Weathersfield Way and west of Roselle Road. Meister-Neiberg, a well-known builder, took over construction on this land in 1986 because of Schaumburg’s booming growth so it was the perfect place for quality housing. Originally planned as a townhome development it turned into a 99-home subdivision consisting of quality mid-sized to large ranches and colonial homes. This project was only part of a larger development plan scattered throughout Schaumburg and neighboring towns which is referred to as Kingsport Village for branding purposes.
The interesting part of this subdivision was that the builders were willing to work with the buyers. Buyers were able to semi-customize by adding fireplaces, moving walls, and including some of their personalized touches to the homes. It was a popular neighborhood for young growing families in search of upscale living.
Meister-Neiberg again chose a great location to build Kingsport Terrace just like they did with their other projects. It is close to shopping, dining, entertainment, expressways, and many other amenities that Schaumburg has to offer including Woodfield Mall. Also, conveniently located is the beautiful Schaumburg Library and the Meineke Recreation Center which is part of the Schaumburg Park District. It is home to one of the park district’s fitness centers and offers many amenities including an Olympic-sized pool with diving boards, slides, park, basketball & tennis courts and a sled hill.
