Barrington Square is a townhouse community in Hoffman Estates built in the 1970’s by Kaufman and Broad.  It is located north of Higgins Road and east of Barrington Road. Kaufman and Broad, a large Real Estate development firm, approached the village board of Hoffman Estates with plans for Barrington Square in 1965. The plans were to build townhouses in what would be Hoffman Estates’s first multi-family development. This community was created to be a fun and functional one.  The 2 & 3 story along with the ranch models are very similar to spacious colonials except for their common walls. One of the major attractions of this subdivision include indoor/outdoor recreational facilities and an Olympic size pool.   

Barrington Square is conveniently located near the highway, businesses, stores, restaurants, Amita Health St. Alexius Medical Center, Hilldale Golf Club, and the Hoffman Estates Park District which includes the Seascape Family Aquatic Center. It is also not too far from Woodfield Mall, Goebberts Farm and The Arboretum of South Barrington which is an open-air shopping center filled with a mixture of shops, entertainment, and restaurants.
