History of Ashton Park in Schaumburg

Ashton Park is an upscale townhouse community in Schaumburg situated on a 20-acre site on the northside of Schaumburg Road and Summit Drive which is east of Roselle Road. This neighborhood overlooks a lake and includes 130 units which consist of 28 buildings; each containing 3 to 6 units per building.

These beautiful and luxurious townhomes were built by Hoffman Homes and the final plat was approved in 1986.  This well-known builder was established in the mid-1950s and is credited to having built many homes in Schaumburg and neighboring towns. The Ashton Park homes were designed by award-winning Philadelphia architect, The Martin Organization.  The development even won a prestigious Gold Key Award, which is the highest award, for architectural design by the Home Builder’s Association of Greater Chicago. This award was considered the “Oscars” of the local-home building industry.

Ashton Park offers 6 different 2-story models which range from 1,368 to 1,891 square feet.  They have a combination of Traditional and Continental style exterior elevations with staggered roof lines, 2-story Palladian (arched) windows, bay windows, skylights, bright breakfast nooks, vaulted ceilings, lofts overlooking the foyer and living room, angled walls and stairways, gourmet-style kitchens, fireplaces, 2-car garages, private entries, and patios. Some of them also have basements.

The models include:
The Ashford
The Berkshire
The Blair
The Coventry
The Dolton
The Somerset

This neighborhood is perfectly placed close to the heart of Schaumburg.  The Schaumburg Town Square is only a few minutes away and is home to the beautiful Schaumburg Public Library as well as other eateries and businesses.  It is also within walking distance of the Prairie Center for the Arts, the annual Septemberfest, and a scenic pond that combines with the Sculpture Park and its trails.  The ever-popular Woodfield Mall is minutes away and so are many other restaurants and forms of entertainment.
