Virginia Lake is a well-established neighborhood located southwest of Route 53 and Rand Road in the Village of Palatine, Illinois. Development of the community dates back to 1965, when the subdivision was first planned to bring 187 homes to this section of Palatine. Nestled between two nature preserves and featuring several small lakes and ponds throughout, the neighborhood was shaped as much by its natural surroundings as by its residential design.

Housing in Virginia Lake reflects its decades of growth, offering an appealing mix of single-family ranches, split-levels, condominiums, and townhomes. Many properties overlook one of the community's ponds or its namesake lake, giving residents scenic views and a real connection to the outdoors. The neighborhood has also grown into one of Palatine's most diverse communities, drawing families from around the world and fostering a welcoming, multicultural atmosphere.

Green space and recreation are central to life in Virginia Lake. Residents can fish or stroll the shoreline at Virginia Lake itself, spend an afternoon at Celtic Park or Sycamore Park, or head out on the Palatine Bike Trail, which winds through the neighborhood connecting Dundee Road to nearby communities. For a larger outdoor escape, the Deer Grove East nature preserve is just minutes away. Families are also drawn to the area's well-regarded schools, along with easy access to Route 53 and the everyday shopping, dining, and conveniences of greater Palatine.
