Waterbury
The Waterbury subdivision is located on the southern border of Roselle, west of Roselle Road, east of Gary Ave and north of Lake Street. It was built by the Kennedy Brothers on land that was annexed to the Village of Roselle in February 1974 and completed in 1985. Originally this land was part of the Mensching Farm which was in the Mensching family for nearly 150 years though 4 generations.
What makes this neighborhood so interesting is that it consists of apartments, condominiums, town homes and single-family homes. It was designed to be a housing mix of stylish dwellings with amenities at affordable prices in a well-planned subdivision. The builders achieved their goals as the residents thoroughly enjoyed living there because of its “neighborhood feeling”. Also, since the area was designed around natural wetlands, there are also several parks nearby.
The townhomes come in 2–3-bedroom models with single car garages and range from 800 – 1,200 square feet. The single-family homes come in 5 models: The Adams, Carlisle, Villager, and Brunswick. The apartments are made up of 6 buildings, each 3 stories high, with a total of 160 units.
