Red Rock is a subdivision in Schaumburg that was built in the mid-1990s by Town & Country Homes. It consists of 276 townhouses and is located off Barrington Road just north of Schaumburg Road. Back in the mid-1990s it was considered one of Town & Country Homes’ most popular communities due to its fast-paced sales. They won the attention of first-time buyers, single professionals, newly wed couples, and empty nesters. Buyers were able to choose from four 2-story or ranch style designs featuring 2 bedrooms and 1-2 bathrooms. The floor plans include 4 designs; The Mesa, Mohave, Pueblo, and Sedona which originally had themes that matched the natural beauty of canyons and mountains in the American West, with barn wood or weathered wood roofs, almond or cobblestone siding and shell or snow mist colored trim.

Town & Country Homes was considered the largest home builder in the Chicago area at the time. They had a reputation for developing in popular locations. The company’s emphasis on quality was recognized when Town & Country Homes were awarded the inaugural National Housing Quality Award by Professional Builder magazine and the National Association of Home Builder’s Research center.  During the award presentation the judges cited a documented record of registering more than 2,700 T&C homes with the Homes Owners Warranty Corporation without a single claim as testimony to the company’s quality process.  This Oak Brook firm was founded by William G. Ryan in 1958.

Red Rock community is located near major retailers, restaurants, parks, schools, numerous golf courses, nature preserves and major expressways. It is also relatively close to Woodfield Mall, Goebberts Farm and The Arboretum of South Barrington which is an open-air shopping center filled with a mixture of shops, entertainment, and restaurants.
